Community Clean-up: Saturday, June 12, 2021
- Help us clean up the sidewalks in Forest Lawn! We’re looking for families or cohorts to pick up litter from the sidewalks in Forest Lawn from 9:30 to Noon on June 12th.
- If you’d like to help out, fill in the contact form at the bottom of the page. In the messages say that you’d like to volunteer for the community clean-up on May 29
General Volunteering
- We are always looking for people who want to be involved in any way they can!
- Handing out flyers, hall set up, cleaning and general maintenance
- Phone calls and emails – general secretarial duties
- Hall rental organization
Community Engagement
- Developing strategies for engaging the Forest Lawn and East Calgary communities
- Creating the monthly newsletter to be distributed throughout East Calgary
- Volunteer writer and advertiser
- Graphic design
- Planning open houses and engagement events
- Door knocking and phone calls
Planning and Development
- Review and respond to rezoning and development applications
- Respond to inquiries from FLCA members about development within the Forest Lawn area
- Attend planning and development courses and events hosted by the City of Calgary and Federation of Calgary Communities
- Community members with an interest in their communities planning
Sports and Recreation
- Host sports-related events at FLCA
- Starting a small sports team or training class
- Hockey rink maintenance
- Dance instructor
- Yoga instructor
Events
- Event hosting – come teach a class your skill!
- Graphic design and advertising
- Flyer delivery, phone calls, and emails
- Jelly Bean Dances
Grants
- Individuals with an interest in finding funding for various projects and developments
- Support our grants director in submission of applications
Lounge
- Proserve Certified
- Serve drinks to members, collect payment, balance till
- General cleaning and organizing
- Assist with events
