Born July 1 st , 1940 in Wilkie, Sask to an entrepreneurial family. I had experiences as a farm boy growing up. At 14 my folks got into the trucking business in the Estevan oil patch for about 4 years. We then moved to Saskatoon and bought a grocery store, a service station and a trucking business. I liked the service station and trucking best as it was working with cars and trucks. My family moved from Saskatoon in 1961 to Edmonton where I got into the banking business for 6 years. I then worked for Firestone stores for 2 years in the credit dept. Then I went with Scotiabank in their credit Dept which brought me to Calgary in 1968. Best move ever. I worked in the oil patch for Amoco Petroleum for 8 years, Pacific Petroleum for 3 years, Shell Oil for a year where I discovered the life of an insurance agent which I am still doing. I got involved with the Reform Party of Canada in 1987 which changed to the Canadian Alliance Party a few years later and eventually merged with the original Conservative Party which I belong to today. I have been an executive on the board of directors since 1988 as Treasurer. I have been the Treasurer for the winning MP in every Federal election since. I have also been on the board as Treasurer for the Wildrose Party of Alberta and the United Conservative Party as well. I have also been a Treasurer on the Forest Lawn Community Assn board off and on since 2012. I always liked math in school so my jobs and hobbies revolve around finance and accounting.
